Spain Train Booking and Boarding Rules
SpanishTrain is an independent booking intermediary operated by WISE UP LIMITED. The operator named on your official ticket runs the train. These rules describe our current online booking service; your selected fare and the operator’s conditions also apply.
Who can book
Family booking, when available in the passenger selector, supports up to 9 travellers including infants. Adult fares start at 14; children are 0–13, with individual ages on the travel date. Children aged 0–3 without a separate seat travel free; select a child fare for a separate seat. At least one traveller must be 18. All travellers, including free infants, need passenger details. Children cannot use iryo Quiet Coach. Enter each passenger’s name and requested details accurately, matching the document they will carry.
Journey, station and fare
Check the exact date, departure and arrival stations, train number, fare product, passenger count, currency and total. A city can have more than one station. Search results may cover only some operators; a timetable or indicative price is not a confirmed bookable fare. We refresh the selected fare before creating an order.
Payment and manual ticket issuance
Payment starts a booking request for manual review; it is not an official ticket or permission to board. Our ticketing team handles requests manually, 24 hours a day, and checks availability and fare conditions before arranging issuance. If the selected fare or availability changes, we will explain the options before proceeding. Do not assume an immediate ticket or a fixed issuance deadline.
Receiving and checking your ticket
Provide an email address you can access. After issuance, check the official operator e-ticket for all names, stations, dates, departure times and travel conditions. Check spam folders and contact support if the ticket is missing or incorrect. An order number, payment receipt or payment-success page alone cannot be used for travel.
Boarding and identification
Follow the operator’s instructions for the exact station, boarding area, arrival time and gate closing time. Leave enough time for station access and any security checks. Bring the official ticket and the identity documents required by your operator. Missing boarding deadlines can affect your right to travel or change the ticket.
Luggage and assistance
Luggage allowances, large items, bicycles, pets, accessibility assistance and any included local connections depend on the operator, service and fare product. Renfe AVE and Avlo do not share one universal allowance; iryo and OUIGO products can have different inclusions. Check the applicable official rules before buying add-ons or travelling.
Changes, refunds and support
Changes and refunds depend on the selected fare and the operator’s deadlines. Do not assume a ticket is refundable or freely changeable. Contact contact@spanishtrain.com with your order number and request; avoid creating a duplicate order while we review it. Never send card passwords or verification codes by email.
